Sony has done it again. They're already losing the fight against Samsung in the electronics world and now they've shot themselves in the foot over copy-protection in music CDs. Now might be a good time for consumers to exercise their rights by boycotting all Sony products. Sony has a bad habit of making propriety stuff to lock customers in. Take memory sticks, they're more expensive, and they don't work on other manufacturer's equipment. Take the stupid mini-DV (or whatever they call it) on the PSP, nobody else supports it. Bah! Wake up, Sony.
Talking about boycotts, I've given up going to the cinemas. Tickets for 2 will set up back $19 on weekends, not including concessions. I could buy a DVD for that and pass it around to my friends. I wonder how high prices have to go before people feel the pinch - there are still queues at places like GV Plaza.
Just read an article about why it's not a good idea for an individual to stockpile Tamiflu. Mainly, you'd need to take it continuously for at least 6 weeks in the event of an outbreak. That'll easily cost you more than 1K. And thats for 1 person. And what if the outbreak (in your area) lasts longer than that? Hmmm?
Today's 'Loser' is Dana. Big hand, folks!
